Reuter Organ Company, 1962
3 manuals/35 ranks, Electropneumatic
Our organ was built by Reuter of Lawrence,
Kansas, in 1962. The main body of the
instrument is housed in two chambers above
the north and south porches and speaks
sideways into the chancel (choir). The Swell
Organ is on the south side, and the Choir on
the north; the pipes of the Great Organ stand
in front of the Swell and Choir on either side.
The Pedal Organ is enclosed with the Swell and
Choir on either side, with the exception of the
Principal 16', which is freestanding in the north
transept. A seven-rank Positiv Organ is
located, unencased, against the west wall in
the gallery (it does not have its own console).

Jack Shafer, 1977 2 manual/14 ranks
Originally built by Kilgen in 1907 and renovated in 1929 for the First United Methodist Church, Abilene Kansas, the church bought an electronic organ and sold their pipe organ in 1971 for $50 to a local farmer who quickly realized he didn't have the money to rebuild his house to hold the instrument. He then listed it with the Organ Clearing House for sale. Jack Shafer was a member of St. George's, and was able to put the instrument together for about $3000. Eleanor Page played the dedication of the Brett C. Cloutier Memorial Organ at St. George's on Sunday, February 6, 1977. [The Texas Churchman, January 1977, Vol. 80, No. 1]
